Coniston Launch - fell walks

You can combine a cruise aboard one of our traditional timber launches with a choice of great fell walks that have been carefully researched by Ross Pincott of Lakeland Leisure Walks. These walk leaflets are sold in handy packs of all five walks for just £1.60 - they can be bought on either of our launches, or at most Tourist Information Centres.

walk one: 2.5 miles (4kms) - allow 1.5 hrs

A very easy walk that offers one of the most fabulous lake and mountain scenes in the whole of the Lake District. Depart from Coniston Boatlandings, disembark at Brantwood jetty.

walk two: 4.5 miles (7kms) - allow 2.5 hrs

An exhilarating walk between the 'Old Man of Coniston' with its fabulous mountain scenery, and the sublime beauty of Coniston Water. Depart from Coniston Boatlandings, disembark at Torver jetty.

walk three: 4 miles (6.5kms) - allow 2.5 hours

An outstanding walk that meanders up to this very enchanting tarn, then descends with the most stunning views of Coniston Water, to finish at the Lake Bank jetty. Depart from Coniston Boatlandings, disembark at Sunny Bank jetty.

walk four

This classic walk along the side of Coniston Water is for all those people who appreciate easy going underfoot, coupled with varied and unforgettable scenery. Depart from Coniston Boatlandings then choose:

• (a) disembark at Lake Bank jetty: 6.5 miles (10.5kms) - allow 4 hours
• (b) disembark at Sunny Bank jetty: 3.5 miles (5.5kms) - allow 2.5 hours
• (c) disembark at Torver jetty: 2 miles (3kms) - allow 1.5 hours

walk five: 5.5 miles (8.5kms) - allow 3.5 hours

An enjoyable walk up through woodlands and across the high pastures of this fell, with the most memorable views of the Coniston Mountains. Depart from Coniston Boatlandings, disembark at Water Park jetty.
